A sports fashion retailer is to move into an empty unit within a shopping centre in a matter of days.
JD Sports, which stocks sports wear including trainers, is to move into Bouverie Place shopping centre in Folkestone this month.
It will replace budget fashion store Peacocks, which announced its pending departure just before last Christmas.
It officially closed on Saturday, April 13.
At the time asset manager Richard Hutchison said: “It is with regret that Peacocks will be leaving the shopping centre but we are excited to soon welcome a new sports fashion business to the town which I am sure our customers will love.”
It was later announced that JD Sports would be taking the vacant unit, with an array of jobs being advertised online.
The new shop will open on Saturday, October 19 and a DJ will be present in store providing live entertainment.
Bouverie Place confirmed the news on its social media channels.
It said: “The new store will open on Saturday, October 19 and there’s lots going on.
“Head into the store on opening day and enter their competition to Win Trainers For A Year.
“Simply sign a competition card in-store for your chance to be a winner.”
